Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to The AI Colony Academy's websites, applications, learning platform, courses, events, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account, applying for a programme, purchasing a course, or otherwise using the Services, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use the Services on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. Learners under 18 may use the Services only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required.
- Provide complete and accurate registration information.
- Keep your password and account access confidential.
- Do not share, sell, transfer, or allow another person to use your account.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access or misuse.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account, except where caused by our failure to use reasonable security.
Applications and enrolment
Submitting an application does not guarantee admission, scholarship, or placement in a particular cohort. We may assess eligibility, programme fit, capacity, and information supplied during the application process.
Course schedules, instructors, lesson order, and programme features may change where reasonably necessary. We will communicate material changes that substantially affect an enrolled learner.
Payments and refunds
Prices, payment schedules, included services, and any taxes are shown at checkout or in the applicable programme offer. You authorise our payment provider to charge the selected payment method.
Refund eligibility is governed by the refund terms presented at purchase or in your enrolment offer. Except where law requires otherwise, fees are not refundable after the applicable refund window or once substantial course content has been accessed.
Acceptable use and community conduct
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, discriminate against, or impersonate another learner, instructor, or member of staff.
- Upload unlawful, harmful, infringing, deceptive, or malicious content.
- Circumvent access controls, copy protected course media, scrape the platform, or probe it for vulnerabilities.
- Share temporary playback links, credentials, assignments, answers, or restricted learning materials with unauthorised people.
- Interfere with the Services, introduce malware, automate abusive requests, or misuse another person's data.
- Use the Services in a way that violates law or another person's rights.
Academic dishonesty, plagiarism, or misrepresentation may lead to removal from an assessment or programme.
Course content and intellectual property
TACA and its licensors own the Services, course materials, videos, designs, software, trademarks, and related intellectual property. Enrolment gives you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access course content for your own learning during the applicable access period.
You may not reproduce, sell, publish, distribute, record, publicly display, modify, or create derivative commercial products from protected course materials without written permission.
Your content
You retain ownership of original work you submit. You grant TACA a limited worldwide licence to host, reproduce, review, and display that work as needed to operate the Services, assess submissions, provide feedback, and maintain academic records.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to submit your content and that it does not infringe another person's rights. We will seek separate permission before using identifiable learner work for public marketing, unless it has already been made public by you.
Third-party services
The Services may link to or integrate with third-party websites, payment providers, video services, community platforms, or software. Their own terms and privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for third-party services that we do not control.
Availability and educational outcomes
We work to keep the Services reliable, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security events, internet conditions, and third-party outages may cause temporary disruption.
Courses are provided for educational purposes. Completion does not guarantee employment, funding, income, certification by an external body, or any specific professional outcome.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where you materially breach these Terms, create a security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or seriously disrupt the learning community.
Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions concerning ownership, payments, disclaimers, and liability survive termination where their nature requires it.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available". We disclaim implied warranties that cannot reasonably apply to educational services, while preserving all rights you have under mandatory consumer law.
TACA will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct.
Changes, governing law, and contact
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Services, law, or security practices. We will post the revised version here and notify you of material changes where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without limiting mandatory rights that apply in your place of residence. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any concern in good faith.
